The reason I picked this Ansel Adams photo for my Landscape category is due to the fact that it proves how different elements interact with each other to make a compelling final product. One of the prime elements in this photograph, color, is missing but due to the subject, emphasis, space, and texture, you still get a picture that turns out great.

The reason I pick this photo of Vladimir Lenin at the famous Red Square speech is again, due to the iconography. I'm a huge fan of iconic photos because it shows how we as people have the power to turn striking imagery to spectacles of history. This example is perfect because this pose ended up being turned into a statue that was eventually torn down.
